Wall Sculpture: 'Abundance' No. 2

Wall Sculpture: 'Abundance' No. 2
Wall mounted sculpture in plaster pink abaca fabric on wood frame, approx 43 x 93 x 12 cm.
Continuing the processes and applications of the ‘Digression’ series, ‘Abundance’ aims to capture a lightness of touch, and a sense of ‘precise imprecision’, finding harmony in irregularity. Here, swirls emerge and fall away from the folds, cascading and flowing to create a light-catching 3-dimensional surface, and conjuring thoughts perhaps of chiffon drapery or an abundance of tumbling and trailing foliage.
Original artwork, handmade in London by Karen Henriksen.
Despatch is approx 5-10 days from order.
Material: 100% abaca (banana fibre). Also called Sinamay, it is widely used in the millinery trade - made by independent weavers and small family co-ops in the Phillipines.
Colour: As with most textiles, over time the colour may alter slightly, depending on the conditions of the room, in particular how much sunlight it is exposed to. Even in a very bright setting, it will be a slow, gradual process. The pink colour here may fade very slightly over time.
Dimensions: Height 93cm, width 43cm, depth 6-18cm. Get in touch if you are interested in commissioning this piece in a different size.
