‘Deco’

The 'Deco' range of lightshades is inspired by Art Deco shapes and motifs, combined with Karen's love of asymmetry. Made with overlapping, folded layers of translucent abaca fabric (banana fibre), each meticulously placed, observed and hand-stitched to create a harmonious, abstract and complex texture.

This technique led Karen to start to develop a series of wall sculptures, in particular ‘Digression’.
