‘Digression’
Many folded bias pieces of sinamay inter-weave, and cross over each other in an abstract spiral. As I worked on this piece, I knew that I wanted to place the pieces in less expected ways, not following a predicted path, sometimes repeating, sometimes doubling-back, often needing to find a solution to a dead-end. During this long process it reminded me of conversations, or journeys, where we might meander and digress, but eventually come to a resolution or destination.
