Handmade Sculpted Lightshade: 'Fold' in banana fibre, size large
Evoking a kind of abstract origami, the ‘Fold’ lightshade has a lyrical and diaphanous quality. As with couture millinery, the banana fibre (also known as sinamay) has been cut on the bias, allowing it to ebb and flow harmoniously around the central drum in undulating and criss-crossing loops and folds.
The abstract and asymmetrical nature of the drapery gives the lightshade a slightly different appearance from all angles, and means that each one is unique.
The lightshade is supplied with a removable diffuser - a disc overlaid with sinamay folds - so the bulb is obscured. (Please note some images show the lightshade without the diffuser).
This lightshade would also work with a standard lamp - simply turn it the other way up, without the diffuser - as seen in one of the images here (this is the plaster pink option, paired with a mid-century lamp).

Material: 100% sinamay (banana fibre). Also sometimes called Abaca, it is widely used in the millinery trade - made by independent weavers and small family co-ops in the Phillipines, who work directly with our suppliers, small family businesses here in the UK.

If you are not satisfied with your purchase for any reason, we are of course happy to offer a refund or exchange. Please notify us by email within 5 days of receipt, and return the lightshade to us in the same packaging within 14 days. Unfortunately we cannot refund either original or return shipping costs.
