Community Project | Protective Gowns for NHS Staff

Protective gowns for NHS.jpg

Here at Karen Henriksen we have been involved in helping to produce protective gowns for a London primary care unit. The requests came from GP practice managers in response to their need for long-sleeved, washable gowns (but without the very strict hospital requirements of specific colours and fabrics).

For more information or to support the project please visit our Just Giving page.

The gowns are in use daily by nurses and GPs caring for Covid-19 patients; they are worn on top of scrubs.

Included in our ever-growing network of cutters, stitchers and deliverers are fellow Cockpit Arts makers Helen Johannessen, Clara Breen, Amanda Ross, Jennie Adamson, Annette Bugansky, Aimee Furnival, Bryony Phipps Wardle and Jesse Noy.

Gown pictured below is by Jennie Adamson.
