Fresh linens with feminine details
The collection is inspired by the Olympic sporting stye of last year's Olympic games in Rio, with a touch of retro 1950’s glamour. The collection features stylish caps, berets, and wide brimmed hats, as well as visors. They are made of fresh linens with accents of lace, colourful cottons, silk tweeds, and leather detail. Ribbon details echo the rosette form. New this season, some designs are available in practical viscose and linen blends, which are washable. Karen says:
"I'm a fair-weather watcher of sport, but when the Olympics come on I get really passionate about the athletes' struggles and successes! In particular I love watching tennis, athletics, football and gymnastics."
Keeping cool with the 'Laura' cap
The brand new ‘Laura’ cap design is inspired by the style and personality of cycling champion Laura Kenny - she is always effortlessly stylish whilst radiating beautiful energy. Its wide opening at the back plays with traditional sports cap designs. The blue Laura features a generous ribbon at the back, a feminine touch for a very practical design.
Generous brimmed hats
The generous wide-brimmed ‘Alexa’ in 3 shades of red or natural linen is perfect for pool-side style. The ‘Stella’ in grey and black has a more urban feel and would be the perfect companion for any Wimbledon lover. Pictured above: 'Alexa' in natural linens and 'Lorna' in navy cotton blend.
As always, Karen is at the forefront of design innovation - she created the brand new Flat cap-meets-visors: ‘Asha’ and ‘Desiree’ , named after the British relay team. They keep the sun away whilst not being too hot. Very practical, they can be rolled up in your handbag without getting crushed.
The British successes at last year's Olympics were so impressive and inspired the colour palettes for the collection. Colour palettes are separated in 3 teams: Pool (fresh off-white linens, reds, dark blues), Track (dark blues, black and white textures) and Field (fresh greens, paleearthy tones, fine textures)
